Monica Mohnot is an Indian American visual artist who currently resides in Austin, Texas. She was born and raised in Kolkata, India, and moved to the United States after her marriage in 2001. Monica's artistic vision is inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, as well as her experiences navigating multiple cultural spheres.

Monica's artwork combines painting with woven, stitched, and quilted textile pieces, often incorporating vintage and found textiles, particularly saris, to connect with the South Asian diaspora and explore contemporary issues surrounding gender and labor.

When not creating art, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her family is close to music in their own way and loves to travel, binge-watch movies, and cook together. She cherishes these moments, finding joy and fulfillment
in both her family life and her artistic endeavors.
